This is where things start to get interesting. As with Rowan Mayfair, I've made hourglass and extended family charts for
Michael Curry. I then had Michael and Rowan Mayfair "switch places" to built tables to show how Michael is related to the
same set of ancestors from Rowan Mayfair's Relatedness page.
Here we see that Michael Curry and Rowan Mayfair are, in fact, first cousins twice removed.
Until the last half to full century or so, it is important to keep in mind that first cousin marriages were legal, and even
common. It is now largely prohibited due to first cousins seemingly being too closely related to reproduce.
In Rowan and Michael, this resulted in something completely different from what normally happens in terms of genetics. They
were able to reproduce a Taltos with a giant helix of 92 chromosomes. An "extra compliment", an entire second set of chromosomes
that would otherwise have remained dormant in them had they not conceived a child. A child Lasher could somehow pair with
genetically, allowing him to reenter the world "in the flesh"...
